The UV light therapy – using the Saalux® UV Comb (UV light comb) – serves the treatment of various skin conditions. It is a therapeutic method recognized for decades. UV combs / UV Light Therapy Devices are generally offered in two versions: As UV-A (also UV-A1) and UV-B comb. Their special UV radiations are also found in lower strengths in natural sunlight. Unfortunately, our skin, especially in autumn and winter, does not always get enough sunlight exposure in our latitudes. Urban living habits, with longer stays indoors, promote the associated lack of Vitamin D. This can significantly negatively affect the immune system and the skin's regenerative behavior. However, there are not many options to produce missing Vitamin D or compensate for an existing deficiency. About 90 percent of this immensely important substance can only be produced within the skin. The intake through food is hardly possible and therefore often insufficient. Light with the wavelength ranges of the sun, for conversion into vitamins, is therefore vital for humans. This is where the Saalux® UV Light Comb comes into play.

UV Light Therapy – Application and Effect

The Saalux® UV Light Comb is capable of simulating sunlight during a UV therapy session, thereby promoting the production of Vitamin D in the skin – including on the scalp. However, the use of UV phototherapy should always be based on medical advice. The required therapy sessions for the treatment of Psoriasis, Vitiligo, or Eczema then last only a few minutes each. The incoming light affects the top skin cells and is not noticeable. However, in most cases, UV protective glasses should be worn for safety during application.

The Saalux® UV Comb meets all certifications and standards to be offered over-the-counter for light therapy in home use (even by laypersons).
